One of my students is from Uganda. He wasn't literate in his home country, but he came over to the USA at 11 years old. Since this time, he attended little school, but he began taking classes at our Adult Education Center. He needed to begin at the beginning, and I used Reading Horizons with him. He went from a 225L to a 470L in about a year. He continues to succeed in his comprehension and decoding skills, and he's seeing progress himself. Today in class he shared that he's studying for the written driver's test. He was so proud of himself because he could study the manual on his own and figure out the sentences. He owes a lot of his success to Reading Horizons. Thanks!
