Reading Horizons Review: Lindsey Krohn

Implementing Reading Horizons in our school has helped us become vertically aligned in meeting the standards for the reading foundational skills in the Utah Core. We now have a common vocabulary that is consistent starting in Kindergarten on up. We also have common procedures that are carried throughout the grade. Research supports that phonics instruction be explicit and systematic and Reading Horizons helps provide that structure. Our school has been able to have our teachers and instructional assistants trained using the online tutorial as well as having a Reading Horizons trainer come to our school. We love using all of the resources provided with the website for support materials as well as videos to aide implementation.
