Reading Horizons Review: Linda Davis

Yes, All of my students have made progress with RH. I'm presently in book 4. I have a student who presented as a nonreader, she is now reading at the end of first grade. I'm very, very proud of the progress my entire class has accomplished with RH. Every Friday my class get an opportunity to utilize the chromebooks, we work 45 minutes on the RH program. Small group instruction with the transfer cards allows my students the opportunity to show what they have learned and to challenge themselves. 

While studying the schwa sound, my class noticed when w is followed by a, the a makes the schwa sound. I use a lot of chants in my instruction. My class decided w is crazy because w changes the sound of a. They began to chant, crazy "w"'makes the a go uh, uh, and o,o. Cool!
