Reading Horizons Review: Julie Blankenship Parker

Tags: Methodology, Results

I have been teaching Language arts for 16 years and the Reading Horizons program is by far the most successful program I have used to teach students to read. I teach primarily K-4th grade and use the Reading Horizons Little Books with my students. I soon discovered that since the skills the students learn through the progression of explicit instruction are integrated into the Little Books the children are much more successful with reading. I see their confidence building and I am hearing them say that reading is their favorite thing to do now.

***The success story on this page is based on the Reading Horizons explicit phonics instruction taught in well over 10,000 U.S. schools. Reading Horizons produces and distributes other types of reading curriculum such as ELL reading instruction for speakers from non-English-speaking countries and a reading intervention program for struggling readers in grades four and up.***
