Reading Horizons Elevate has helped in incredible ways for at least three junior high students learn to read at grade level this year.
Chase has had interventions pretty much all his educated life in school- private tutors and in school intervention through RTI. After receiving direct instruction using the RH Elevate materials, he can decode pretty much any multi-syllable word! He began showing improvement after the first month in his *writing*. His reading level according to the first reading assessment done with RH Elevate was at 1.6 and on assessment 2 it went up to 6.2! This was confirmed by his classroom STAR assessment. He is going into 8th grade and will be continuing in the progression next year for RH Elevate.
Makayla and Michelle both in 7th grade really worked hard and from September to April 2017-18 made wonderful gains in writing and in reading. Makayla started at a 6.2 and Michelle started at a 3.3 on assessment 1, and now both are are a *12.9* as of assessment 2 in the RH Elevate program. The STAR Assessment confirmed the same growth! They will both complete the progression next school year as well beginning in chapter 5. We could not be more pleased!!
